Significance

Szabó and co-workers report a borylation of propargylic alcohol derivatives under mild conditions using a Pd/Cu bimetallic system. The desired allenyl boronate derivatives are obtained in up to excellent yields.

Comment

The authors also show the synthesis of diborylated butadienes by transformation of propargylic epoxides in 19–94% yield. The reaction proceeds at room temperature and mainly provides one stereoisomer.
