Key words
copper - nanoparticles - C-N cross-coupling - C-O cross-coupling

Significance
Copper iodine nanoparticles prepared by a sodium citrate assisted hydrothermal method catalyzed the cross-coupling reactions of chlorobenzenes 1 and various N- and O-nucleophiles 2 and 4 to give the corresponding products 3 (25 examples) and 5 (16 examples), respectively, in up to 99% yield.
Comment
The catalyst was readily recovered by filtration and reused five times without loss of the activity (for the formations of 3a, 3d, and 5c). The characterization of the catalyst was performed with XRD, XPS, and TEM.
