Synthesis of Chiral δ-Aminoboronic Esters by Enantioselective Hydrogenation of 1,2-Azaborines.

Significance

An iridium-catalyzed protocol for the enantioselective hydrogenation of 1,2-azaborines is reported. This method provides facile access to highly enantioenriched δ-aminoboronic esters.

Comment

Computational studies revealed that minimization of the steric repulsion between the 1,2-azaborine and the ligand is responsible for the origin of the high stereoselectivity.
