Significance

Thioglycopeptides are an important class of compounds in organic synthesis. The authors revealed a new method for synthesizing thioglycopeptides using a Pd-catalyzed coupling of cysteine-containing peptides with iodoglycals.

Comment

The target thioglycopeptides were synthesized using a Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling of iodoglycals and cysteine-containing peptides at room temperature. The method is simple, versatile, and delivers high yields for a diverse range of thioglycopeptides. The reaction was applied in the synthesis of S-linked (oligo)saccharides and thioglycosides.
