Significance
A donor–acceptor–co-oligomer (BT-OPE7-BT-b-PNIPAM36 ) consisting of two benzothiadiazole units (BT), oligo(p-phenylene ethynylene)heptamer (OPE7 ), and poly(N-isopropylacrylamide (PNIPAM) was synthesized according to equation 1. It formed fiber-like micelles (DA-FLM) by π–π charge-transfer interactions in ethanol-d 6 which then catalyzed the oxidation of sulfides to sulfones under Xe lamp (λ = 420–780 nm) irradiation (eq 2).

Comment
The characterization of BT-OPE7-BT-b-PNIPAM36 and the formation of DA-FLM were performed by means of TEM, AFM, UV/vis, FL, XRD, DSX, and EPR analyses. DA-FLM also promoted the oxidation of benzylamine under similar reaction conditions to afford the corresponding N-benzylidenebenzylamine in > 99 % NMR yield (eq 3).
